Prof. Nikos Hadjichristidis awarded The Macro Group UK Medal for 2016

Congraulations to Professor Nikos Hadjichristidis who has been awarded the Macro Group UK Medal for Outstanding Achievement for 2016.

Professor Hadjichristidis has won the 2015 ACS Award in Polymer Chemistry for his seminal contributions to the use of living anionic polymerization in the design/synthesis of well-defined polymers and to the understanding of macromolecular architecture-property relationships.
Prof. Nikos Hadjichristidis was recently awarded the 2015 American Chemical Society (ACS) Award in Polymer Chemistry sponsored by ExxonMobil Chemical Company. He will be honored at an awards ceremony on March 24, 2015, in conjunction with the 249th ACS national meeting in Denver. ACS will also organize a symposium in honor of Prof. Hadjichristidis during the national meeting.
Prof. Nikos Hadjichristidis was recently selected as a 2014 POLY Fellow for his contributions in advancing the field of polymer science. This award was established in 2009 by the Polymer Chemistry Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and recognizes excellence in advancing the field of polymer science, either through scientific accomplishments, service to the profession, or both. The 2014 awardees were honored during a ceremony at the Spring ACS Meeting in Texas, US.
Polymeric materials play an essential and ubiquitous role in nature, everyday life and industry. The production, processing and applications of polymers constitute a significant part of petrochemical industry. Polymers are one of the most important strategic research areas of KAUST and Saudi Arabia. A High-Level Conference, entitled “KAUST Polymer Conference: From Synthesis to Properties and Applications” will be held from 9 November -13 November 2013. The conference will cover the most appealing topics in contemporary polymer sciences and technologies.
The Asian Chemical Congress (ACC) is held at two yearly intervals hosted by the members of the Federation of Asian Chemical Societies (FACS) which comprises 30 chemical societies of countries and territories in the Asia Pacific. This year, the 15th ACC will be held in Singapore from 19 August 2013 to 23 August 2013. The scientific program comprises sessions that illustrate the relevance and value of chemistry in modern science and technology. Dr Junpeng Zhao and Dr Hefeng Zang, two postdoctoral fellows from Prof. Nikolaos Hadjichristidis group of Polymer Synthesis Laboratory at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology will present their work.
The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings – established in 1951 – provide globally recognized forums for the exchange of knowledge and ideas between Nobel Laureates and young researchers. They inspire scientific generations and build sustainable networks of young researchers from around the world. Following the regular alternation of scientific disciplines, the 2013 Lindau Meeting will focus on chemistry. The central topics will be Green Chemistry, chemical energy conversion and storage, as well as biochemical processes and structures.
